How we choose what to recommend
Our comparisons are built from published specifications, independent certifications (such as NSF/ANSI standards), manufacturer documentation, U.S. Geological Survey and EPA water quality data, and current retail prices. We cite our sources at the end of every article so you can check the numbers yourself.
We do not claim to have lab-tested every product. When we compare systems, we tell you exactly what the comparison is based on.
